Clinton Water District is seeking an individual in the water and wastewater field to join our team. The qualified candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, a Class 1 Water Treatment and Distribution or a Level 1 Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate with the ability to obtain their Class 2 and Level 2 certificates in both fields by the end of the first year of employment. This person will be working under the supervision of the Plant Manager but must be able to perform their job responsibilities independently with a positive attitude and respect in a team based environment. The position requires the individual to be able to perform manual labor, the operation of light and heavy duty equipment, have a valid Maine driver’s license free from violations, to be on call every other week and a working knowledge of the computer programs; Word, Excel and Outlook.
Job duties include grounds maintenance, basic vehicle maintenance, meter reads, executing work orders including water meter installations, collections and disconnections, daily maintenance and procedures required for the operation of the water and wastewater facilities and mains. Additionally, job duties will also include handling of chemicals, filing monthly state reports and track inventory. This position also requires, being on call every other week to address after work situations. On call duties require a 60 minute response time.
